Admissions

From its inception, Eastminster School has endeavored to embody the following Founding Principles:

  • Students will be admitted to Eastminster School based on potential for academic growth, personality, character, and desire to be a positive part of the Eastminster community.
  • Every child will be treated with respect by all members of the school community at all times.
  • Participation and encouragement will be promoted in all areas.
  • The academic, social, and emotional growth and progress of each child will be closely monitored, and regular communication with parents will be maintained.
  • An appropriate balance will be struck between academic work, intramurals, extracurriculuar clubs, and other activities, including family time, recognizing that each contributes to the overall development of a well-rounded child.

Eastminster School has adopted an admissions policy which is consistent with the mission of the school:

Eastminster School provides motivated and disciplined students with a rigorous and balanced college preparatory curriculum.  Based on traditional Judeo-Christian values, the school provides the highest quality academic education, emphasizing every student's social, physical, and spiritual well-being.

A motivated student is one whose previous academic work (class grades as well as standardized test scores) reflects that he is working at or above his capacity, recognizing that the capacity for each student to achieve academically may be different and must be considered on a student-by-student basis.  In addition, motivated students articulate a desire to do their best and be successful in face-to-face meetings, evaluations, and interviews. A disciplined student is one whose past conduct reflects few, if any, behavioral issues, and whose desire to be successful is supported by an understanding of the importance of hard work, time management, following directions, and organization.

My favorite thing about Eastminster is …

The teachers are nice, they do fun stuff, and we have specials.

My favorite special is Art. You can make glass yarn bowls and magnets.

It’s the best school I’ve ever been to!
