Middle and Upper School Chemistry and Biology Instructor.
Dr. Beeman received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Clemson University, an M.S. in Basic Biomedical Science from the University of Colorado, and was awarded his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Until recently Dr. Beeman was a full time academic research scientist, performing postdoctoral studies in the Reproductive Sciences Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and in Experimental Pathology at Emory University School of Medicine. His focus has been carcinogenesis and epithelial pathobiology. During his first postdoctoral fellowship Neal designed and patented several peptides, or synthesized pieces of proteins found in nature, that are now being tested as anti-tumor therapeutics. He has published articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and has written chapters in scientific textbooks. He has presented his findings at several international scientific conferences and has delivered invited lectures to research groups in academia and in the private sector.
Dr. Beeman began his career in science as a teaching assistant at Clemson University while undertaking postgraduate studies. He is now entering a new phase in his life and career path, following the recent loss of his wife, in order to spend more time with his two daughters, the older of whom is attending kindergarten at Eastminster.
Neal is deeply honored by the opportunity to help mentor the development of young scientific scholars. He is an avid cyclist and outdoorsman. His greatest enjoyment in life is spending time with his daughters.
