  • SP1114.4.7 We will continue to promote and encourage membership in the Eastminster Parent-Teacher Fellowship (EPTF) as a formal means of parent involvement.

Opportunity #5: Special Programs

Eastminster School has the opportunity to continue developing a unique program of extracurriculars and academic specials which attract families, promote “wellroundedness” in students, and take advantage of facilities which exist proximate to the school.

  • SP1114.5.1 We will provide opportunities for the students to be involved in performing and visual arts programs at all grade levels, both within school and within the larger community.

  • SP1114.5.3 We will provide opportunities for students to participate in a variety of individual and team sports, beginning in Lower School.

Opportunity #6: Governance and Administration

Eastminster School has the opportunity to continue using governance and administrative policies and procedures which embody nationally recognized “best practices” for independent schools.

  • SP1114.6.1 We will comply with appropriate accreditation standards at all times.
  • SP1114.6.2 We will encourage members of the school's administrative team and Board of Directors to take advantage of professional development opportunities, training sessions, and conferences.
  • SP1114.6.3 We will hold an annual Board Retreat to review our progress and performance.
  • SP1114.6.4 We will educate parents regarding the nature of independent school governance and the appropriate roles of Board members.

Opportunity #7: Campus Development

Eastminster School has the opportunity to capitalize on its position in the marketplace through the aggressive development of its campus and the corresponding fundraising required to complete the desired capital projects.

  • SP1114.7.1 We will aggressively pursue opportunities for philanthropic support from families, friends, and foundations.
  • SP1114.7.2 We will commit to planning and executing capital projects with attention to responsible fiscal stewardship and sustained environmental and financial viability.
  • SP1114.7.3 We will continue the process of parent education to ensure that current and future families understand the financing of independent schools and the importance of fundraising in support of both capital and operating needs.

Opportunity #8: Outside Guidance

Eastminster School has the opportunity to strengthen and improve all aspects of the institution by thoughtfully prioritizing and carefully executing the recommendations of the SAIS-SACS Visiting Committee.
