Eastminster Recycling Program

Eastminster recognizes its responsibility to the environment and the importance of instilling environmental ethics in children.  Therefore Eastminster has begun a recycling program, which not only provides recycling storage, transport, and disposal of various recyclable items, but also encourages student volunteer and environmental community service project opportunities.  Eastminster currently recycles nearly all types of paper and cardboard items, plastic containers, plastic bags, aluminum cans, and all other scrap metal.  Furthermore the Eastminster recycling program will expand to include glass and Styrofoam recyclables by the 2008-9 school year.  Eastminster currently hosts an annual Arbor Day tree planting ceremony, and will host special recycling drives through out the year for several unusual items including: ink cartridges, cell phones, batteries, light bulbs, eye glasses, and tennis shoes.  Eastminster believes it’s recycling program and environmental endeavors are a necessary extension of its philosophy “Excellence in mind, body, and soul”.

Scrip Program

Eastminster Parent Teacher Fellowship (EPTF) has implemented a fundraiser to raise money by shopping with gift cards for everyday purchases like food, clothing, and entertainment. This program is referred to as a Scrip Program.  The program offers a wide variety of gift cards to be purchased at no additional cost, but each scrip gift card purchase earns a rebate for Eastminster School. The percentage earned depends on the company.  It is a wonderful, "no-selling" fundraiser.

Eastminster School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, nonsectarian, independent, coeducational day school.  All gifts to the school are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
